How do I get started with Kin Custom's Shopify app?

For the best experience, please follow the guidelines below after downloading.

Before we get to the fun part, we need to first make sure you have properly set-up your app and prepared your designs for the best print quality. To do this simply:

  1. Once downloaded, complete your account profile in 'Settings' (in case we need to reach you!)
  2. Add your own logo to our custom branding sets.
  3. Before creating, make sure your designs meet our Artwork Guidelines.
  4. Review our Print Guide to understand how each product is printed and produced.
  5. View Shopify's General Checklist to make sure your store settings are all correct. For example:

Now the fun part! You can design in our Shopify app or use our Creator Studio, as products are automatically added when a product's design is finished. Once steps 1-4 above are finished, you may:

  1. Upload your design.
  2. Choose the products you're interested in.
  3. Design, set your profit margins, and get your products available for purchase (instructions below).
  4. Once an order is placed, simply submit payment to fulfill the order.

** Please note, you will only pay the base price when an order is submitted. Please make sure you submit payment when your orders are imported automatically; otherwise your orders will not be fulfilled.**

How to make your products available for purchase while designing in our Shopify app:

After a product is created, Shopify requires to manually set as your products as 'Available'. If this is not set, your products will not be displayed in your Shopify store. To make your products available for purchase:

  1. Click 'Products' on Shopify's left side menu
  2. Make sure 'All Products' is highlighted and click 'Filter'
  3. In the dropdown, select 'Availability' then 'Unavailable on online store'
  4. Select the products you want to add and click 'Actions'
  5. Click 'Make products available'

** Please note, in order for Kin Custom to process your order without delay do not change the product SKU. Orders where the SKU has been manually adjusted will not qualify for refund**

How to make your products available for purchase in when designing in Creator Studio:

Products created in our design tool, Creator Studio, are automatically added to your Kin Custom Shopify app. After a product is created, Shopify requires to manually set as your products as 'Available'. If this is not set, your products will not be displayed in your Shopify store. To make your products available for purchase:

  1. From Creator Studio, click 'Created Merch'
  2. Select the products you want to add to your shop
  3. From the dropdown, select 'Shopify' then click 'Connect'
  4. Follow the prompts on the pop up
  5. Click 'Products' on Shopify's left side menu
  6. Make sure 'All Products' is highlighted and click 'Filter'
  7. In the dropdown, select 'Availability' then 'Unavailable on online store'
  8. Select the products you want to add and click 'Actions'
  9. Click 'Make products available'

How to submit an order for fulfillment:

When you receive a Kin Custom order in your Shopify store, you MUST complete the process below or the order will not be fulfilled. While orders with all required information will automatically import, they will NOT be automatically fulfilled without completing the process. Please follow these prompts below to fulfill:

  1. Login to your Shopify store
  2. Once your order is processed in Shopify, it will automatically be added to your Kin Custom Shopify app.
  3. Click 'Orders' and you will receive a popup stating your order was imported automatically.
  4. Make sure your logo is added to our custom branding sets.
  5. Select the shipping method (express, premium, or economy for US orders).
  6. Submit payment and your order confirmation will be sent to you directly. 

*If you do not submit payment to Kin Custom, your order will not be fulfilled. Shopify does not make payments to Kin Custom on your behalf.

As your print & dropship provider, we send communication to you directly. You will be responsible for sending your customers their tracking information and order confirmation. If you choose to use our custom branding sets, your logo will be on the packing slip, apparel labels, poly bags, and more. 

Order Tracking:

Once the order is fulfilled, you may find the tracking number in your Shopify orders. Please note, production averages 3 business day delivery and tracking may take up to 48 hours after an order has shipped. If you have not received a tracking number within this time frame, please contact our Customer Experience at info@kincustom.com. **Excludes Home Goods, we average 7 business day production.
